What the $30 covers
- A specialist in the right field reviews your reports and scans
- A video consultation to discuss your diagnosis and treatment options
- A written summary of the recommended treatment and expected length of stay
- A hospital cost estimate in writing, if you'd like to go ahead
- A care coordinator who schedules the call and answers your questions
The fee is for the specialist's review and consultation and is non-refundable once the consultation has taken place. If we can't arrange a consultation with a suitable specialist, we refund it in full. Refund policy

How it works
You decide at every step. After your consultation, nothing is booked and no travel is planned until you have reviewed the hospital's written estimate and chosen to go ahead.
Book a consultation
Fill in the form and pay the $30 fee. Your care coordinator emails you a secure link for your medical reports.
Specialist video call
A specialist reviews your reports, then talks you through your diagnosis and treatment options by video.
Choose your plan
Compare the treatment plan, the hospital's written estimate and the expected length of stay, then decide.
Visa and travel
We get the hospital's invitation letter for your e-Medical visa and help with flights, airport pickup and a stay near the hospital.
Treatment and recovery
Your coordinator meets you, stays in touch daily, and arranges an interpreter, pharmacy and transport as needed.
Follow-up at home
Video follow-ups with your treating doctor, and your discharge summary shared with your doctor at home.
Flights, stay and visas — our travel desk
Our travel desk books everything around your treatment dates, so you don't have to juggle airlines, hotels and paperwork. Tick what you need when you book your consultation.
Flights
Fares from your home city to Chandigarh, timed around your hospital dates, for you and your companions.
Medical visa
The hospital's invitation letter for India's e-Medical visa, and e-Medical Attendant visas for family.
Stay near the hospital
Hotels and serviced apartments close to your hospital, with space for whoever comes with you.
On the ground
Airport pickup, transport to every appointment, a local SIM card and an interpreter on request.
Recover well, not just quickly
Chandigarh sits at the foot of the Shivalik hills. Once your doctor clears you, we can plan a gentle recovery stay with therapies that help you rest — or a wellness and detox visit on its own.
Detox programmes
Guided plans built around diet, rest and Ayurvedic therapies, supervised by qualified practitioners.
Therapeutic massage
Abhyanga and other massage therapies to ease stiffness and help you sleep.
Yoga & breathwork
Gentle sessions adapted to your recovery, led by experienced teachers.
Hill recovery stays
Quiet stays in the Shivalik foothills, within a couple of hours' drive of the city.
Wellness therapies support recovery; they don't replace medical treatment. After surgery we only plan them with your treating doctor's approval.
Why Chandigarh
Chandigarh is one of India's first planned cities, designed by the architect Le Corbusier — wide tree-lined roads, open gardens and the calm of Sukhna Lake. It is a far easier place to recover than a crowded metro.
Together with Mohali and Panchkula, the Tricity is home to large multi-specialty hospitals and one of India's leading medical institutes, with the hills close by for a quiet recovery.

Questions patients ask
If your question isn't here, send it to us for free using the "Ask a question" tab on the booking form.
Is BookMedTrip a hospital?
No. BookMedTrip is a medical travel facilitator. Your diagnosis and treatment are provided by the doctors and hospital you choose. We coordinate everything around your treatment — reviews, estimates, visa, travel, stay, recovery and follow-up.
Why is there a $30 consultation fee?
It pays for a specialist's time to review your reports properly and speak with you by video. It is non-refundable once the consultation has taken place. If we can't arrange a consultation with a suitable specialist, we refund it in full.
How do I pay?
After you submit the consultation form, you're taken to a secure Razorpay payment page. You can pay in US dollars with an international debit or credit card. You receive a payment receipt by email.
How much will my treatment cost?
It depends on your diagnosis, reports and the treatment your specialist recommends, so we don't publish prices. After your consultation, you receive a written estimate from the hospital, including the expected length of stay, before you book anything.
Can I ask a question before paying?
Yes. Use the "Ask a question" tab on the booking form, and we'll reply by email.
How do I share my medical reports?
Please don't attach reports to the form. After you book, your coordinator emails you a secure link to upload reports, scans and prescriptions.
What visa do I need?
Most international patients travel on India's e-Medical visa, and family members who accompany you apply for an e-Medical Attendant visa. We arrange the hospital's invitation letter and guide you through the application. Rules depend on your nationality, so check the official Indian visa website for your country.
Can my family come with me?
Yes. We arrange a stay close to the hospital for you and your companions, and transport for everyone.
What happens after I go home?
Your discharge summary and reports are shared with you and, if you wish, your doctor at home. We set up video follow-ups with your treating doctor and stay in touch through your recovery.
